Notes about Amazon Associates Program

You get credit for the sale, and the fee is applied to your account, after the item Ships. That's why some days you could see “20 items ordered” but “$0 fee”. The fees will be applied in a day or two or three after the item ships. This is because the customer can cancel the order before it ships or there are some items that are not eligible for commission.

Rules to remember about Amazon Associates Program

Have official disclosure on your site.

__________ is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc., or its affiliates.

Don't display prices next to your products unless you use their Product API which automatically adjusts the prices on your site to reflect the current lowest price.

Don't mention reviews on your site for the same reason.

Don't shorten your links or or direct them or cloak them in a way that doesn't make it obvious to the visitor that they are about to visit Amazon.

Don't include your links into e-mails, RSS feeds, or any offline medium. E-mails and RSS are considered offline because you can technically download and read either without Internet. Basically only include your links on your website. Send traffic to your site and have the links there.

Be sure to list your website URL that you're using to generate traffic in your Amazon Associates Profile. I recently got a warning about this because I didn't have my newest site listed. I think the red flag was that my newest site is sending the most traffic/conversions.
